Celebrating Moms while we’re Stuck Apart

For me Mother’s Day it one of the hardest days to face. Though the loss of my mom was years ago I still wake up that day with such a sense of loss. Now I’m also a mom and so lucky and thankful to have two amazing sons married to incredible wives. I’m the grandmother of 5 grandchildren who mean the world to me.

It’s almost Mother’s Day and time for all of you to honor your caring, loving and selfless mothers. A mother’s happiest days are with their husbands, children and grandchildren. This year staying apart has been very difficult for everyone, your greatest gift is abiding to measures such as social distancing and staying home as much as possible which saves lives of so many mothers and grandmothers.

So how will I make the most of this Mother’s Day while I’m apart from my kids and grandkids? I plan to zoom with my family. I’ll get all dressed up and make a special dinner. I’ll do something that makes me feel good, I deserve it.

Remember, if you don't live close to your mom that phone call means so much. A mother is your first friend, your best friend, and your forever friend.
