Cooking with me - Banana Bread
You do not need to be a great cook to create a great meal. I will be bringing in new recipes that are easy to follow.
Everyone is talking about banana bread and I must say it is a family favorite at my house as soon as I make it it's gone. I can’t go to my grandchildren’s house to visit without bringing some so here it is. ENJOY!
BANANA BREAD
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sugar
½ cup oil…I use vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 cup mashed ripe bananas…I use 3 ½ bananas
½ cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ½ cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease and flour bottom of a loaf pan or use 3 small loaf pans …I grease all sides of pan
- In large bowl, beat together sugar and oil
- Add eggs, bananas, sour cream and vanilla and blend well
- Lightly spoon flour in measuring cup and level off
- Add flour, baking soda and salt…stir just until dry ingredients are moistened
- Pour into prepared pan
- Bake a 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes (40 minutes for small loaf pans) check by inserting a tooth pick in center till it comes out clear
- Cool 5 min then remove from pan
- Cool completely
- Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator……can be frozen
